I had the opportunity to do the real estate photography for this fabulous six bedroom, three bath cabin that included a game room and a family room. It was quite the project, working under a time crunch, while contractors were still finishing up, but you would never know from the photographs! As the client said:
“Finally close to being done and these photos make it look so pretty so I had to post.” – J.H.
Here is a link to the Air B&B listing if you would like to see all the photos for yourself: Ruidoso.
Cabins can be challenging to take photos of on your own because they are often in dark, forested spaces that don’t let in a lot of light. This location had no windows in all of the bathrooms and laundry room, and very little light in the game room. Having professional photos taken made all the difference.
When is the Best Time in the Creation Process to Take Photos of a Vacation Rental?
You may think your vacation rental needs to be completely finished and ready to take photos, but that isn’t always true, as was the case with this project. Photographers know that every day not listed could be costing you money. You would be surprised what a photographer can to to hide unfinished work, by only shooting from certain angles, etc.
Depending on the package a customer purchases, I will often return to photograph the outside of a location at a different time than the inside, so we can photograph the inside while outside is still being worked on.
The most important thing, is that there isn’t drilling, or any construction going on that could shake the house, because that can cause camera blur.
The easiest way to find out when to schedule a photographer? Call them and ask. The more I know about a project, the easier it is to find a way to work in your deadline.
