Every location I photograph is different and special to me, however, this one really stood out. The mid-century aesthetic made every room feel like stepping into a different time, down to the littlest details, such as the glasses and lamps. When the client contacted me, the location, in Pine Mountain, was a little out of my typical coverage. We were able to work out a trade. My husband and I got to stay there for the night in addition to my regular rate.

This isn’t the kind of location that just anyone can take pictures of. Although it has nice large windows, it is in a forested and mountainous lot, that does not provide as much natural light as a typical suburban home. In addition, the lovely bright orange colors easily reflected off of surfaces.

Luckily, I was up to the task. Because of my longer stay, I was able to calculate and take images of the house at the ideal times throughout the day, as the sun shifted. This still allowed me to use all natural lighting. Although I am completely comfortable working with flash photography when taking real estate photos, I love the clean, organic look of using natural light.

As we approach the Fall season, I would highly recommend staying here. It is the perfect place to snuggle up by the fire and get away from it all. Although there is a lot to explore near by, we were perfectly entertained by all the fun surprises in the rental. If you have a vacation rental to trade for real estate photography, don’t hesitate to reach out. I love to travel and have a flexible work schedule that allows me to stay on weekdays, when there are typically less bookings. As an AirBnB and HipCamp photographer, I have a lot of experience working in a variety of settings.
